Psa 4:5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
July 30 marked the 50th anniversary of our national motto "In God We Trust." President Dwight Eisenhower officially signed the motto into law on July 30, 1956. During the War of 1812, as the morning light revealed that the battle-torn American flag still flew above Fort McHenry, Francis Scott Key penned, "And this be our motto: 'In God is our trust!'"

Creation Conference
If a person doubts the authority of Genesis, will he/she doubt the authority of the rest of the Bible? Can a person who rejects the authority of Scripture accept Christ as Lord and Savior? Did Christ validate the authority of Genesis? "But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female." (Mar 10:6, KJV) "For [in] those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be." (Mar 13:19, KJV)

Revival in Abq
Psa 85:6-"Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?"
Eastern Hills Baptist Church will host guest speaker Steve Hale at their revival, Aug 20-23. The value of revival in America cannot be overstated. "We are a Christian people ... not because the law demands it, not to gain exclusive benefits or to avoid legal disabilities, but from choice and education; and in a land thus universally Christian, what is to be expected, what desired, but that we pay due regard to Christianity." (US Congress, 19 Jan 1853, as part of a Congressional investigation, records the report of Mr Badger of the Senate Judiciary Committee) "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." (John Adams)
Steve Hale is a dynamic speaker who will address issues that concern us all. Having a long history in evangelism and conference speaking, he has been in vocational evangelism since January, 1980 and is a nationally certified teacher/trainer in Evangelism Explosion. Since Steve has been licensed to preach in 1973, and ordained in 1980, he has been active in speaking at various conferences and campus revivals. Residing in Woodstock, Georgia, Steve is married to his lovely bride, Debbie and they have two children-Melody and Joshua. His ministry is based out of the First Baptist Church of Woodstock, where he holds the title of Staff Evangelist.
The Great Awakenings are a reference to notable periods of religious revival in Anglo-American religious history. There are three generally accepted Great Awakenings in American history:
The First Great Awakening (1730s - 1740s)
The Second Great Awakening (1820s - 1830s)
The Third Great Awakening (1880s - 1900s)
America is overdue for another.

In God We Trust
"In God We Trust" first appeared on U.S. coins after April 22, 1864, when Congress passed an act authorizing the coinage of a 2-cent piece bearing this motto. Thereafter, Congress extended its use to other coins. On July 30, 1956, it became the national motto.
Jul 30th marked the 50th anniversary of our national motto, "In God We Trust." We recognize His blessings and offer thanks for His great gift of liberty. From its earliest days, the United States has been a nation of faith. During the War of 1812, as the morning light revealed that the battle-torn American flag still flew above Fort McHenry, Francis Scott Key penned, "And this be our motto: 'In God is our trust!'" His poem became our National Anthem, reminding generations of Americans to "Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation." On July 30, 1956, President Dwight Eisenhower signed the law officially establishing "In God We Trust" as our national motto. Today, our country stands strong as a beacon of religious freedom. Our citizens, whatever their faith or background, worship freely and millions answer the universal call to love their neighbor and serve a cause greater than self. As we commemorate the 50th anniversary of our national motto and remember with thanksgiving God's mercies throughout our history, we recognize a divine plan that stands above all human plans and continue to seek His will. www.frc.org/get.cfm?i=WA06G54#WA06G54

Speech & Debate Classes
"Let divines and philosophers, statesmen and patriots, unite their endeavors to renovate the age, by impressing the minds of men with the importance of educating their little boys and girls, of inculcating in the minds of youth, the fear and love of the Deity and universal philanthropy, and, in subordination to these great principles, the love of their country; of instructing them in the art of self-government without which they never can act a wise part in the government of societies, great or small; in short of leading them in the study and practice of the exalted virtues of the Christian system." Samuel Adams, 4 Oct 1790, letter to his cousin John Adams, Vice President of the United States

Values Voters Summit, Wash DC, 22-24 Sep
Conservative Biblical values are not a thing of the past. The Bible continues to be THE foundational document for American law and policies in spite of efforts to eradicate Christian influences. Americans cannot answer the fundamental questions of life and society without appealing to the truth of Scripture. Humanists try to explain why we "should" behave in a certain way but fail miserably without a source of absolute truth.
There have been some great victories on values issues. We've seen signed into law such critical pieces of legislation as the Stem Cell Therapeutic and Research Act, the Broadcast Decency Enforcement Act, the Freedom to Display the American Flag Act, and the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act. There have also been some great disappointments-especially the failure to get two-thirds approval of the Marriage Protection Amendment. Liberals are not giving up. Even now, they're waging a last-ditch effort to keep the Child Custody Protection Act from going into a conference committee so it can be sent to President Bush. We shouldn't give up, either.
September will be a great time to press for our value voters agenda in Washington. Come to the capital to hear top-notch speakers like Dr. Jim Dobson, Newt Gingrich, Bill Bennett, Gary Bauer, and Ann Coulter. Come and see leaders of our government, like Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, Sen. Sam Brownback, Sen. George Allen, and Rep. Mike Pence. FRC Action is keeping scorecards on all our elected representatives and how they vote on the values issues. Now is the time to tally up the score. Indigo Evolution
A prophetic movement to unite the world, Indigo Evolution, proposes peace and tolerance among all people groups. Why the hype and why should anyone care?
Dallas Morning News, Jul 21, 2006, Brood Indigo: Man's Greatest Hope or Hype?
Just one step closer to the Second Coming. The Bible doesn't say when, but does indicate certain signs of the times. A one world government and religion will not happen by accident. Should we oppose it? Certainly, as much as we oppose other evil in the world today. But in spite of warnings and efforts to stop it, God's will be done in His timing. Consider the ten strategic trends of Koinonia House - especially Global Govt & Global Religion. While you're there, you may find currents events with Israel and Lebanon quite fascinating in light of the Struggle for Jerusalem.
The movie - Indigo is a film about loneliness, redemption, and the healing powers and grace of the new generation of Indigo (psychic and gifted) children being born into the world. Although the story is fictional, the emotions and actions of the film resonate with the spiritual dynamics of life today. The dramatic core of the film is the relationship that develops between a man whose life and family have dissolved due to a fateful mistake and his 10 year-old granddaughter with whom he goes on the run to protect her from a would-be kidnapper. Along the way, he discovers the power of his granddaughter's gifts which forever alter the lives of everyone she encounters. Plot Summary

My "Country" Tis of Thee
Much of a culture is reflected in its music.
Don't Forget to Remember Me by Carrie Underwood
#3 on American Country Countdown
18 years had come and gone
For momma they flew by
But for me they drug on and on
We were loading up that Chevy
Both tryin' not to cry
Momma kept on talking
Putting off good-bye
Then she took my hand and said
Baby don't forget
Before you hit the highway
You better stop for gas
There's a 50 in the ashtray
In case you run short on cash
Here's a map and here's a Bible
If you ever lose your way
Just one more thing before you leave
Don't forget to remember me
Tonight I find myself kneeling by the bed to pray
I haven't done this in a while
So I don't know what to say but
Lord I feel so small some times in this big ol' place
Yeah I know there are more important things, but
Don't forget to remember me
Don't forget to remember me
2 Tim 3:16-17 - All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. (NAS)
