- Expelled,
No Intelligence Allowed
Released to Theaters – Apr 18
I had the opportunity to go to the premier of the movie Expelled: No Intelligence
Allowed. I am excited about future implications, that one day all the
cards can be laid upon the table without fear of persecution, freedom in
science education! The sinking ship Titanic, macroevolution evolution, is
going down, and one of the last props is attack upon those who would dare
to question. The movie exposes the attacks, plus you get the opportunity
to see the leading Darwinist babble. It is very important to go the first
weekend!! It starts showing April 18th. The first weekend is a make it or
break it for future documentaries of this type. View it as a donation to
the cause, and go the first weekend! Take your friends! It will be shown
nationwide and across the state. One place it will be showing in the
Albuquerque area is Century Rio 24, 4901 Pan American Freeway. Please
forward this email to as many people as you can. Vast numbers can be
reached by the forward button. At the premier we were told that Ben Stein
was not an ID person. He was just seeking freedom in science education.
Freedom to pursue where the evidence may lead with out fear of
persecution. It is a sincere search. After examining the evidence he
switched sides.

Expelled and the Argument against Denying the Discussion
CT Movies reviewer Brett McCracken has seen Expelled: No Intelligence
Allowed, and his thoughtful
review is available online. It’s worth noting that McCracken, in his own
words, “came into this film very, very skeptical . . . But I was
pleasantly surprised with Expelled on a number of levels.” McCracken seems
to get the point of the film, that it’s an argument against censorship.
Indeed, the film hits a nerve in its critique of the contemporary American
academy. As a graduate student immersed in academia and all its
idiosyncrasies, I can attest to the pervasive and disturbingly
hypocritical sense of close-mindedness that stifles the spirit of
progressive discourse. It goes beyond the scientific communities in higher
education and touches many disciplines. Quite simply: if you are not on
the “right” side of the wall (whatever wall it may be), your voice is
stifled, your work discredited, and your intelligence questioned. It’s
gone beyond political correctness and is now something altogether more
militant and sinister.
Sadly, the academy today is less about the sharing and discovery of truth
as it is about the wielding and protecting of power. We know a few scientists who can attest
to the “more militant and sinister” wielding of power in the American
academy — but their stories are ignored more often than not. This is why
it’s so important to encourage your friends and neighbors to go see this
film – especially those inclined to write off intelligent design and the
scientists who support it. As McCracken notes, Expelled is trying to argue
that there is (or should be) room at the table for both sides, for
multiple arguments on any issue. But more than likely the film will be
denied wide distribution or much (if any) press coverage, just as
Intelligent Design theory is either ignored or laughed out of most
cultural discourse. Whatever you may think of ID or evolution (and I’m not
saying either is wrong or right) it’s hard to argue against the injustice
of denying the discussion. But unfortunately that’s just what is
happening.

- CAPE
Homeschool Convention
Calvary of Albuquerque - April 17, 18, 19
This year’s convention theme, “Building A Heritage,” is a concise summary
of Psalm 127:3: Sons are a
heritage from the LORD, children a reward from Him. In this day of mass media, the need to
captivate our children with Christian philosophy and instill the truth of
God’s Word is greater than ever. We believe that fathers and mothers, in
submission to local church leadership, can best do this by teaching their
own children in the home.
In case you haven’t been to the convention before, the highlights are nationally
recognized speakers, over 60 workshops, an exhibit hall, a graduation
ceremony, and used curriculum sale.
The following are free and open to everyone : a “getting started”
class on Thursday afternoon, and Thursday evening’s opening ceremonies featuring
some of New Mexico’s talented home schooled students in the NM Home School
Showcase, plus encouragement from attorney and author Chris Klicka.

Town Hero
CINews would like to praise God and thank those involved for bringing a
greater measure of Christian freedom to East Mountain High School. Religious policy had been dominated by
fear and ignorance. Though the changes
occurred in 2007, to my knowledge, the story has not been told. Thanks to Mark Anderson for bringing
this to our attention.
In March of 2007, Dave Roberts presented an informational briefing to the
school board on students' rights and responsibilities regarding Religious
Freedoms on campus. Dave, along
with others, had done extensive research to start an effort to inform
students, parents, teachers, and staff of the rights and responsibilities
students have with regard to their individual Religious Freedoms. He created a list explaining these
rights and responsibilities to share with parents, students and teachers
in response to the concerns of some parents that the previous policies and
procedures were too vague and open for possible misinterpretation.
This information has been presented to the Student Parent Student
organization with the Principal’s endorsement. There is another document that contains the Religious
Freedoms and Responsibilities in a bookmark format.

I would like to get more people involved and I would someone to take the
responsibility of picking up the signs and bringing them to where we are
demonstrating. My truck does not hold all the signs. We need someone with
a pickup or a full size SUV. We also need more people involved especially
high school and college age people. Spread the word and personally invite
people. There is no reason why we can't get 25 people at all of part of
the event each week. We also need suggestions as to where else to go.

- National
Day of Prayer
Proclamations from President George W. Bush and the governors of all 50
states will herald this landmark day, as the fervent prayers of millions
of Americans in church events and public venues from coast to coast are
offered before the Lord. This year's theme, "Prayer! America's
Strength and Shield," reflects the words of Psalm 28:7, which states:
"The Lord is my strength and shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am
helped." We hope this powerful message will not only serve as a
catalyst to draw God's people closer together as we intercede corporately
on behalf of our country, but that it will encourage individuals to seek
the Lord's guidance for their personal concerns as well.
Annual prayer guides are sold out but you can download a copy
and distribute in your church or organization. Also available for download are: a
bookmark, bulletin insert, and school guide.
Albuquerque Civic Plaza, 12 noon-1 p.m., praise and worship at 11:30 a.m.
This year Pastor Richard
Mansfield, the event coordinator, is planning
a smaller number of prayers
from the podium, so that there is more time
for those attending to
participate in small group prayer.
Believers Center of Albuquerque, 7 p.m., outdoor activities at 6:30 p.m.
As in past years, there will be
an assembly in the parking lot at 6:30 p.m.
to honor public servants. Police, fire fighters, our military,
and political
leaders will be present. Then at 7:00 p.m. activities will move
indoors
for a time of prayer. The event coordinator is Pastor Cindy
Townsley.
Hardin Field Parade Ground, Kirtland AFB, 12 noon - 1 p.m.
This event is sponsored by the
Christians in the Workplace Networking
Group at Sandia National Labs
and the Kirtland AFB Chaplain's Office.
It will include praise and
worship and prayers on a variety of topics
led by individuals from the Air
Force and the Labs. Carol Eiffert
of
Sandia National Labs is the
event coordinator.

With only a few weeks left until the main event :) I see that some of you
have already posted your info on the http://nationaldayofprayer.org
website, but not all, so do whatever you can to get all of your info on
there, because KKIM AM&FM is going to be running PSAs and I'll be on TBN
this month to drive people to the site + KCHF will be running repeats of
last months interview regarding NDP, so the more that's on the website,
the more people will be able to see what God's doing throughout our state. I hope you are all pretty well set by
now, but there's still time to contact your local media for promotional
outreach for your NDP events. I'll
be heading down to Silver City to meet with some folks there this month,
but if you would like me to come and speak with people in your area, do
not hesitate to contact me and we'll see what we can do. Try to get yourself or someone in your
community to continue to have at least a once a month prayer meeting going
on throughout the year for NDP and the needs in your areas. God's going to do great and mighty
things this year with NDP through you, so be prepared and keep moving
forward In Him!
Destiny Center Church in Rio Rancho will be hosting a youth event on April
27, which is a Sunday evening and it's less than three weeks away, so
please, let your youth leaders and youth groups know about this National
Day of Prayer Youth Rally, located at 4401 Northern Blvd. NE. On May 1, which is a Thursday evening,
there will be a City-Wide National Day of Prayer Event at Destiny that we
hope ALL the churches in Rio Rancho and the surrounding communities will
participate in, which will be a night of prayer, praise and fellowship for
repentance, government, media, education, church, family, military,
business and more, so please, let everyone know about it and be sure to
attend. The NM State Capitol Event
will take place in Santa Fe on Thursday, May 1 from 11:45am-1pm in the
Capitol Rotunda at The Roundhouse, so we need ALL of the Santa Fe Churches
to participate and certainly anyone from around the state is invited to
join in this very special event.
For more information about these events and all others that are
going on in NM visit: http://nationaldayofprayer.org
or for more info regarding the Rio Rancho Events taking place at Destiny
Center call 792-7999. If you are a
NDP Coordinator, be sure to post your events on the national site and if
you are not a coordinator, but are holding an event in your area, be sure to
visit our site and post your event as well. Our theme this year is, "Prayer - America's Strength
& Shield," which is based on Psalm 28:7. I will be on TBN's "Praise The
Lord Albuquerque" program on Friday, April 18 from 9:30-11am, so be
sure to tune in to watch and pray and if any media outlets would like to
do an interview regarding National Day of Prayer in NM, do not hesitate to
contact me. I look forward to
seeing more events posted on the website as we draw closer to NDP this
year and hope to see ALL of you in Rio Rancho, Santa Fe or in your area
soon!

of the Family is a group of key supporters who invest
monthly in family ministry. Their commitment is key to the ongoing
effectiveness of Focus on the Family and enables us to extend the ministry
to many who cannot afford the resources and services they need. They also
enable our radio programs, our efforts to defend family values, and our
outreaches to special groups like teens, unwed mothers, and
non-Christians. For more information, call 1-800-A-FAMILY.
Center for Traditional
Family Values NM is a newly formed yet cohesive, nondenominational
grassroots organization of families and individuals who see a distinct
shift in American values. God is
moving the hearts of believers today to renew an emphasis on His design
for man, woman, and the traditional family. We see the devastating consequences around us from ignoring
those values – violence, drugs, divorce, suicide, abortion, broken
relationships, etcetera. They are
the symptoms of a culture in need of God.
Why wait until the situation gets even worse? God ordained three institutions to
influence society for good – Civil
Government, the Church, and the Family.
Each has a God given role.
Without God, these institutions become corrupt and we see evil
instead of good. The Center for
Traditional Family Values has a vision for NM beyond opposing bad
legislation. We need your support
today to pursue that vision. For
more information, call 505 609-9609 or email info@traditionalvaluenm.org.
* Civil Govt - For he is the minister of God to thee for good.
(Rom 13:4)
* Church - That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished
unto all good works. (2 Ti 3:17)
* Family - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God
created he him; male and female created he them. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it
was very good. Therefore shall a man leave his father
and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one
flesh. (Gen 1:27,31; 2:24)
