NM Coalition

Unprecedented, miraculous growth is the best way to describe conservative participation in this year’s legislative session.  There are two resources available to make the Coalition even more effective.  While each group has committed to forwarding email alerts, we are expecting rapid progression of critical bills through committees and floor votes this year.  Two homosexual marriage bills are already prefiled for quick introduction during the opening day of the session on Jan 20th.

Luminaria Memorial – Sat, Jan 24

Albuquerque Right To Life will commemorate the 35th anniversary of the U. S. Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion with a luminaria memorial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Paseo del Norte & Wyoming NE. One thousand luminaria bags will be placed near a gravesite honoring this past year’s aborted, unborn children of New Mexico. Each bag will feature five names to remember the approximately 5,000 children that were conceived but not named.

A service will be held in the chapel at 5:30 pm after all the candles have been lit that will include presentations by students who gave their award winning speeches on the abortion issue at the Christian Heritage Speech Competition last Nov. Please join us to honor the 5,000 unborn New Mexico children who died last year due to abortion.

For questions, please call Charlene at 345-4423.

APS/CNM Election – Tue, Feb 3

Typically, low turnout is the name of the game for school board elections.  A smaller voting body means your vote is even more significant and most of those voting have a vested interest in the outcome – students, parents, teachers, administrators, and staff.

Constitutional Amendment #4 on the Nov 2008 ballot passed by an overwhelming 75% to “allow school elections to be held at the same time as non-partisan elections.”  Combined elections typically get a higher turnout and a better representation of the community.
